Advent III - Centering Prayer for Gaudete Sunday

10:00 a.m. - Holy Eucharist followed by Christian Formation

Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral

The Third Sunday of Advent traditionally is called Gaudate Sunday. We light the pink candle on the Advent Wreath, hear Isaiah proclaim the wilderness glad and listen to Mary sing the Magnificat. It is a day of rejoicing as the birth of our savior nears. Also, it might be a time when the busyness of the season threatens to overwhelm. Give yourself the gift of quiet, centering prayer. Join Dean Abigail in the Sullivan Chapel following our Sunday morning worship service. Brief instruction will be offered before entering into silent prayer together for twenty minutes. Prompts will be available for those who wish.

Prelude:  Magnificat non toni - Samuel Scheidt

Anthem:  Thou Shalt Know Him When He Comes - Mark G. Sirett

Postlude:  Wachet Auf - Hugo Distler
