The Rev. Jeremy O’Neill joins the Cathedral staff as Associate Priest after serving at Church of the Redeemer in Bryn Mawr, PA. Jeremy grew up in an Episcopal parish in Berkeley, California and studied Music History at Sewanee: The University of the South before earning his Masters of Divinity at Yale. He was ordained a priest at Grace Cathedral, San Francisco in 2024.

Jeremy has experience collaborating on the design and implementation of creative worship in parish and academic settings. His training included ministry with people experiencing homelessness in San Francisco and New Haven, something he hopes to continue at the Cathedral. Firmly grounded in his faith, he is clear and passionate about our imperative as Christians to strive for justice and peace and is inspired by the Cathedral’s legacy of being a voice that stands with marginalized people in Philadelphia and around the world.

Jeremy’s responsibilities at the Cathedral include overseeing social justice ministries, establishing a newcomer program, and building congregational community through small group ministry, including adult formation offerings.

A lifelong train enthusiast, Jeremy enjoys learning about Pennsylvania’s railroad history and riding the rails whenever he can. He is also active in the local tennis community, both on the courts and restringing racquets. Most importantly, he shares his life with his fiancée, Rachel, a Chaplain at Penn Medicine, and a black cat named Brooke.
