Leading with Love

We have embarked on an intentionally inclusive strategic planning process in order to live most effectively into God's call for us. I invite and strongly encourage everyone’s participation during this exciting time full of possibility.

What a gift it is to engage in this ministry with all of you.

Mission Statement

Our cathedral is a seat for the bishop, a home for the diocese, an open door for all. Believing in the measureless expanse of God’s merciful love, we strive to be a community where relationship with God grows, faith deepens, and Christian hope leads to action in the world.

Core Values

Love • Community • Spirituality • Inclusion • Stewardship

Love

We are people who are eager to love, and who understand that loving is essential to putting into action what we say we believe. Living into our baptismal promises, we seek and serve, as we strive for justice and peace, honoring Jesus’ commandment to love others as ourselves. As a cathedral community, we embrace the call to move out into the streets radiating and sharing God’s love, knowing that without love, we have nothing.

Community

For us, community looks like people of all ages, backgrounds, and dreams coming together to create a place of purpose and belonging through worship, learning, and action. Partnership with our bishop and the parishes of the diocese is essential to our ministry. Being a public witness of prayer and social justice in collaboration with our neighbors is a vital aspect of our mission. Through our open doors, open minds, open hearts, we strive to be a meaningful voice in the broader community and to create a place for all God’s beloved.

Spirituality

Experiencing the divine with all our senses is intrinsic to our spiritual life. We are rooted in the Anglican tradition, nurturing a deep personal connection to God through worship, and inspired by art and music. Recognizing that these gifts evoke the spirit of God we seek to foster them in our cathedral space so that we can be a place where relationship with God grows, faith deepens, and Christian hope leads to action in the world.

Inclusion

We believe that God gazes with the soft eyes of understanding and love upon all people and calls us to do the same. Realizing that we do this imperfectly, we commit to continue striving, so that all people who enter the Cathedral feel seen, heard, and welcomed. By opening our space to everyone, we invite all to explore meaningful ways to connect, choosing to walk alongside one another as we grow in relationship. In an often conflict-filled world we trust that our promise to respect the dignity of every human being moves us closer to peace.

Stewardship

We trust in the abundance of God and respond with gratitude for all God’s gifts. We accept with joy the responsibility to care for all that God entrusts to us, confident that God will provide support for our efforts. We pledge to give of ourselves intentionally, protect God’s creation fiercely, and manage our resources responsibly. Through fearless engagement we will ensure a healthy future for the Cathedral and the global community. In giving and serving, we also receive.
