The Reverend Abigail Crozier Nestlehutt has been elected 5th Dean of the Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral. An engaging preacher, worship leader, and pastor, Abigail brings to the Cathedral her management expertise and strategic thinking, as well as a commitment to collaboration. Her experience in urban, rural, and suburban settings is an ideal background for the Dean of the Cathedral.

Currently Abigail serves as Rector of St. Peter’s Church in the Great Valley in Malvern, Pennsylvania. She considers being a priest both a privilege and delight because each day brings unexpected challenges and joys. Abigail particularly appreciates opportunities to be with people at significant times in their lives. Throughout her ministry, she has been committed to initiatives addressing hunger and homelessness.  Her first day at the Cathedral will be August 25, 2025.

A New Englander from the Boston area, Abigail was ordained in Massachusetts in 1998 and has served churches on Cape Cod, in downtown Chicago, and on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Abigail graduated from the Winsor School and Yale College where she was a varsity rower. She earned a Master of Divinity degree from Harvard Divinity School and a Master of Sacred Theology degree from The General Theological Seminary in New York City.

Abigail lives with her husband, Mark, and has two children, a dog, and a parrot. She enjoys hiking, running, cycling and most outdoor activities.
