Dear members and Friends of the Congregation of Philadelphia Cathedral,
In accordance with the By-Laws of the Cathedral Church of the Savior (Philadelphia Cathedral), I am calling the 2009 Annual Meeting of the Congregation, to be held as a part of the Liturgy on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 10:00 A.M.
All members of the congregation in good standing are expected to attend and are empowered with voice and vote. All others are most welcome, and may participate in our discussions. The purpose of the meeting is at least, to
Elect Deputies for the Diocesan Convention on November 14, 2009
Review what we have accomplished in 2009
Receive a Cathedral Financial Report for 2009
Begin charting our course and direction for our mission in 2010
Begin to plan and initiate the Stewardship Campaign for 2010
A member in good standing has been regular in attendance at worship, participated in the life of the congregation, and has helped achieve the Cathedral’s mission with their gifts of time, talent and financial offerings. As plans for the meeting develop, some of you will be called upon to assist in shaping the agenda and be involved in presentations and other leadership roles at the meeting.
Meetings can be boring affairs, but they don’t have to be. This meeting will be exciting if we bring our excitement about the potential of this great cathedral in our community, diocese and beyond, and of our congregation—the cathedral’s vital center of spiritual energy.
