Parrott
Wesley Parrott, Cathedral Organist

Before coming to the Cathedral in September 2018, Wesley was Organist and Music Director at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Cathedral Road for 21 years. Prior to St. Mary’s he served at St. Mark’s, Locust Street. He is also a regular Assistant Organist performing on the Macy’s Grand Court Wanamaker Organ, Philadelphia, for daily recitals and radio broadcasts. His recordings are available through the Organ Historical Society. Wesley has been an active member of the Executive Committee of the Philadelphia Chapter of the AGO and a past president of The Franklin Inn Club, Philadelphia.

Wesley holds degrees from The Curtis Institute of Music, The University of the South, and Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester, and has served as organist for churches in Philadelphia, PA, Alexandria, VA, Washington, D.C., and Rochester, NY.  Winner of three US national organ playing competitions in 1979, he was also a finalist in the International Organ Playing Competition, Grand Prix de Chartres in 1982 and a semi-finalist in 1986. Wesley has performed in such places as Longwood Gardens, Ocean Grove, NJ, The Kennedy Center, Washington National Cathedral, The Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, National City Christian Church (Washington, D.C.), The Kimmel Center’s Verizon Hall, The Academy of Music (Philadelphia), Princeton U. Chapel and in cathedrals throughout England.
