Outreach at Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral is inspired by these words from Matthew’s Gospel:  For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.               (Matthew 25:35)

In the tradition of the earliest Cathedrals, we are a place unconditional hospitality and welcome to all who walk through our open doors.  We minister to the hungry seeking physical sustenance through the Cathedral’s many feeding programs, as well as to the despairing seeking spiritual solace and sustenance through prayer, fellowship, and pastoral care.

The Cathedral has a rich tradition of outreach and hospitality in serving vulnerable populations and those in need. Our outreach ministries, which continue to grow, take place in the Cathedral. We are grateful for a dedicated group of volunteers and the other agencies we have partnered with that include Philabundance, the Clothes Closet, and Episcopal Community Services.
