Carnival Sunday at the Cathedral
The Mardi Gras Carnival Tradition evolved as an explosive celebration prior to beginning the solemnity and abstinence of the Lenten season. On Sunday, February 14th the last Sunday in Epiphany, Philadelphia Cathedral adapted this theme liturgically in its own tradition that featured masks and beads along with the Missa Luba, a dramatic Congolese setting of the Mass for Percussion. The Rev. Andre Trevathan was the Homilist and Dean Lloyd Casson presided at the Eucharist. Following the Liturgy, a scrumptious reception was enjoyed by all!
