Prague native Žofie Vokálková is a graduate of Prague Conservatory, and has studied with František Malotín, Christian Lardé, James Galway and Meinhardt Niedermayer. She is a laureate of the competitions Concertino Praga, Pacem in terris (Germany), Prague Spring and Web Concert Hall (NY). Vokálková frequently collaborates as a concerto soloist with Czech and foreign orchestras (Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Japan, USA. In addition to her work with Due Solisti, Vokálková is currently flute soloist for the orchestras Virtuosi di Praga and Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK. Previously she has been the first flautist of the same Prague Symphony Orchestra, and Flute Professor at Prague Conservatory.
Kathleen Scheide has concertized as an organ and harpsichord soloist throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, the Far East and the Caribbean. She has received touring artist grants from the Arkansas Arts Council, California Arts Council and the American Embassy, Vienna. Dr. Scheide earned degrees in early music and organ performance at New England Conservatory and the University of Southern California. She presently teaches harpsichord at Westminster Choir College, and serves as Organist/choirmaster at All Hallows Episcopal Church in Wyncote. As DUE SOLISTI, Vokalkova and Scheide concertize in the United States under the management of Phillip Truckenbroad Concert Artists. The Duo has also performed in the Czech Republic and Germany, and has recorded for the Dutch label HLM.
