Theological Education & Spiritual Formation

In keeping with our understanding of the journey of faith as a lifelong process, the Cathedral community provides many opportunities to learn, explore, challenge, and stretch one’s faith in dialogue with others. Cathedral members serve as both teachers and learners.

A variety of courses for formation and education are offered throughout the year. Adult subjects have included mysticism and spirituality, end of life issues, Islam, Celtic spirituality, and catechetical instruction, among others. Education for Ministry (EFM) has been offered on an intermittent basis.

Godly Play, the Montessori-type program pioneered by Jerome Berryman, is offered for children. The Cathedral sponsors a spiritual meditation and centering prayer program on Wednesday evenings that is open to all who are interested.

As he was setting out on a journey, a man ran up and knelt before him, and asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” Mark 10:17
