ZAROUHIE ABDALIAN “Aliasings”
Abdalian’s artwork explores aerial photographs of Philadelphia and of her hometown, New Orleans, through a variety of media, investigating
the relationship between distance and fidelity, scale and noise. “Aliasings” is a multi-media sculptural installation of work, which
includes Abdalian’s permanent installation piece created for the Cathedral. Abdalian exhibits her work internationally and is the
Philadelphia Cathedrals 2007-2008 Artist-in-Residence. Admission is free.

MICHAEL MUSGRAVE “An Evening of Brahms– A Lecture Recital”
Eminent Brahms scholar Dr. Michael Musgrave explores the composer’s keyboard works and performs piano pieces from Op. 117 and
Op. 119. Riyehee Hong, Director of Music and the Arts at the Philadelphia Cathedral, performs three pieces from the Organ Chorale
Preludes, Op. 122. A reception will follow. Admission is free. Suggested donation of $20 general, $10 for students supports the Cathedral Organ
Restoration Fund.

CATHEDRAL SINGERS AND FRIENDS “Lift Up Your Voices”
The Cathedral Singers, directed by Riyehee Hong, join the Tononi String Quartet, the Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale and Karen
Christianson in a musical celebration entitled "Lift Up Your Voices" on Sunday, May 4 at 4 p.m. The program opens with Ms. Hong and
the Tononi String Quartet performing Handel's Organ Concerto in F Major, Op. 4. No. 4., followed by the Cathedral Singers and Quartet
in a performance of Haydn's “Little Organ Mass” in B Flat Major. Members of the Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale join the Cathedral
Singers in the Philadelphia premiere of "Echoes" by 12-year-old composer Karen Christianson who is the 2008 Cathedral Organ
Scholar. The festival celebration concludes with the world premiere of Andrew Galuska's choral composition "Windows" performed by
the Cathedral Singers with Organist Joe Arndt. Admission is free. Suggested donation of $20 general, $10 for students supports the Cathedral Organ Restoration Fund.
