Thursday, January 15 at 7:00 p.m. Celebrating the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King - Philadelphia Cathedral
will host a service of celebration and song in honor of Dr. King's
birthday. Leaders from the interfaith community will be joined by the
Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale, Common Ground Interfaith
Fellowship Choir, Choirs from the African Episcopal Church of Saint
Thomas, the Choir of Saint Francis De Sales Roman Catholic Church, the
Cathedral Singers and guest soloist, Dr. Lourin Plant, professor of

Saturday, January 24 at 2:00 p.m. - The feature film documentary Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North
will shown in the nave of the Cathedral. Producer and director Katrina
Browne tells a provocative story of her forefathers, the largest
slave-trading family in U.S. history. Given the myth that the South is
soley responsible for slavery, viewers will be surprised to learn that
Browne's ancestors were Northerners. The film follows Browne and nine
fellow family members on a remarkable journey which brings them
face-to-face with the history and legacy of New England's hidden
enterprise. Following the screening, Ms. Browne will lead a
