The Diocesan Stevick Theological Library is located at Philadelphia
Cathedral in the Gateson House. The library is primarily a theological
collection with an emphasis on Anglican history, theology and liturgy. It also
includes extensive sections on biblical studies, general church history, church
art and architecture, ethics, church law, pastoral theology, literature and
faith, and preaching. There are approximately 15, 000 volumes.
The collection is catalogued on the Library of Congress
system. Borrowing privileges are extended to members of any parish in the
Diocese of Pennsylvania. Borrowers must register as patrons. A patron who would
like to borrow a specific book can do so in person by appointment. It is also
possible to email or telephone the library by contacting The Rev. Canon James Shannon at jamess@philadelphiacathedral.org
or by phone at 215-386-0234 ext. 103.
Books can be borrowed for one month. Books can be sent my
mail with shipping costs charged to the patron.
The collection will be accessible on line shortly. We hope
to extend borrowing privileges more widely in the near future.
