The Rev. Emily Richards serves as Priest in Charge of St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church, Whitemarsh. Emily is a native Kentuckian where she grew up as a member of Christ Church Cathedral in the Diocese of Lexington. Emily felt the stirring of the Spirit during her young adult years as she discerned a call to ordained ministry. She graduated from The School of Theology at The University of the South (her undergraduate alma mater) with a Master of Divinity. She was ordained to the priesthood in 2003. Before being called to St. Thomas’, Emily served for twelve years as Rector of St. Peter’s, Glenside. In our Diocese she was the Dean of Montgomery Deanery and a member of the Cathedral Chapter. Most recently she had the great privilege of representing our Diocese as Deputy to the 80^th General Convention. At the heart of Emily’s ministry is a call to witness to the redeeming power of Christ’s love for all people and to create communities where all are invited to experience the healing grace of Jesus Christ.  She is grateful for the opportunity to serve again alongside the Bishop, Dean Sullivan and other members of the Cathedral Chapter.
